This photo was shot with slide film.
When I started to shoot photos for this journey in 1997, the rumor was
that slide film produced a higher quality image than print film. I
shot slide film while in Washington State, but shot print film most other
times. It was much easier to shoot print film and scan the 4x6
prints with my flatbed scanner, but I still worked with slide film now and
then. I was not ever able to find an economical way to digitize my
slides with the quality I prefer.
I did get an epson scanner but could never get it dialed
in.
At a photo club meeting in March 2004, the question came up and one of the
the members offered to copy my slides with his digital camera at no
charge. I gave him about 150 slides that I'd shot over the years and
have now posted some of them on my web site.
There are many flaws on these digital images. Lots
of dust, some fogging, corners are dark, odd dark ghost marks.
