So, I was driving to my
fathers home so I could get a shower and a good meal. Just
after I called to let him know I was going to be early, I noticed a
sign that said "New Prague Next Exit." I didn't have time to
look at the map, so I turned. I did have plenty of time to
think about what I would do in New Prague. You see, Prague in
Europe was my favorite stop during my 1999 "Tour De Europe."
After driving 20 miles I finally came to a town that was much larger
than I thought it would be. Several bars along the main
street, so I started at one end, and zig zaged my way towards the
other end of the street stopping at each bar for 1 beer before
moving on. I learned about the Meat Raffle after sitting for a
long while watching one guy pull over 850 tabs. He had bought out
the lot, and ended up winning a bit of money. Sign above the
door said, "Meat Raffle, 7 pm December 21st." I asked about it
and then set my sights on the next bar. That is where I ran
into Greg. Good talker Greg is. Has to be because he is
in radio. He asked about my shirt, and I let him know as much
of the story as possible over just one beer. Than, told him
that there was a Meat Raffle across the street at 7 pm, and I'll go
get my cameras and Viking helmet and meet him there. Excited I
was about the opportunities for good Viking shots at this unique
event.
