Quebec

Dave in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

You know it is a windy day when a bald mans hair is blowing across his shoulders.

Saint Joseph's Oratory

Greg and I took a trip to Canada for the 4th of July weekend.  We ended up in Montreal on the afternoon of July 1st.  Canada Independence Day and also Montreal "Moving Day."  If I had had the Viking helmet with me, surely I'd have gotten pics of some of the movers.  We were luck to find the English speaking side of the downtown area.  Greg isn't much a drinker before the evening begins, But I'll drink a Guinness at any time of day.  We stopped in a pub to ask people about the celebrations for the night.  Greg left as I got into a conversation with the guys on either side of me.  One guy was talking about his adventures as a truck driver in the Yukon.  How a bear had cut off his direct path to the safety of his rig.  The other guy was telling me about how just a few days ago, he was laying on the beaches of  Costa Rica, got busted with an illegal substance, was escorted to a north bound jet which eventually landed in New York City.  Because of his drug situation in Central America, the United States wouldn't let him stay, but the guy had no cash.  He was escorted to a north bound jet, again.  Landing somewhere in Canada, He's been hopping trains to get back to his Canadian home.   Happy Independence day Dude!  I bought a round of beers.
