Ducale Courtyard

The courtyard inside the Ducale in Venice Italy.  This is one of those shots in which you see a scene and move in for the shot.  Only moments before the shutter releases can final adjustments be made in composition by moving and inch or two in any given direction.  This assures that all the details are in place.  Wide angle lens distorted the lines a bit, so I framed the photo to show the stairway in the lower left.  You can see one of the domes of St Marks Basilica also.  The marble work is magnificent.  The pillar along the right is off a bit, but only adds to the appeal of the photograph by making the carvings a main focus.
