When I was a child, my father purchased a painting to give to his
parents for Christmas. The painting is an old town in the
mountains. A stone arch bridge spanning a river. Laundry
hanging out the windows of the 2 story row houses. Mountains
in the distance. The grandparents didn't like it, but told my
father that they didn't have room to take it back to Arizona with
them. My parents kept it hanging in our living room until the
grandparents came to get it.
I enjoyed that picture all the while I was growing up and it is now
waiting for a proper home alongside my photographs. Anyways...
I was just thinking about when I was a child. How I wondered
about where that place was.

It was late in the day when we arrived. Since this was not tourist
season, there seemed to be only one hotel open at this time of year.
The hotel and room were both very nice with a balcony view of the
harbor. A bit expensive, but we didn’t have a choice, and the view
was wonderful! Since the hotel was not crowded, Dave was able to
bring the car into town and park at the hotel this time. This
certainly made carrying luggage easier.
