Devils Tower Sunset

LESSONS LEARNED

Slow film + Low light = Long exposure  (In this case, 5 minutes)

I was still in South Dakota when I noticed that the sun was going to come up underneath the clouds.  I drove like a mad man to get to Devils Tower for the sunset.  I decided to take the northern route off of Interstate 90 and on to the monument.  I was still 10 minutes away when the best light was on the sky.  Damn, Damn, Damn...If only my afternoon nap was a bit shorter.  I got to a nice area for a photograph and pulled along side the road.  Camera on tripod and I started to shoot some long exposures.  Several photos were shot, some exposures up to 5 minutes long.
