Charles Bridge Sunset

Looking west from just outside the east gate of the Charles Bridge.  A lot of distortion here due to the wide angle of the lens.  In the center with the concentrated light, you see one of the many statues that line the bridge.  This one, like many of the others, have some sort of Christian meaning to them.  You can see the cathedral in the lower right side, just beyond the light post.

My first sunset in Prague.   I had been hiking on the bridge earlier in the day but it started to rain heavy.    Just a bit damper than I had intended on getting, I decided that I would take a shower in the facilities shared by mine and the room next door.  Only after feeling quite refreshed did I return to the streets.  The sun was about to drop underneath the clouds that had brought the earlier rain.  I knew that this was going to be a good sunset, but had no idea where the sun was going to go down.  I positioned myself along the river and ended up with this.  This was one of those long colorful sunsets that one could enjoy a Guinness with!
